Smartflow® - Erratic counts, stock flooding, input too fast

Resolving SmartFlow® Count Issues

We have received reports from customers experiencing rapid count increments, leading to stock flooding and "INPUT TOO FAST" alarms. These issues are often caused by electrical interference from surrounding equipment. To address this, we recommend the following steps:

  1. Switch Power Sources
The simplest solution is to try using a different power source for the SmartFlow®. Many customers have successfully resolved the issue by switching to an alternate power source.
  2. Use an NPN Sensor
If the issue persists and you wish to continue using the rotation sensor on the roller, consider replacing the included PNP sensor with an NPN sensor. Our research indicates that NPN sensors are better suited to handle electrical noise.

  3. Eliminate the Roller Signal
Alternatively, you can eliminate the roller signal entirely and use a dry contact signal from the press. If you choose this option, you will need to update your system installation settings to change the cycle input signal to "PRESS."
