Air in APEX™ fluid output lines.
The APEX™ system uses a positive displacement pump to volumetrically dispense fluid to the rollers within a Uni-Roller® applicator. During the course of operation, air bubbles may become visible within the tubing that runs from the APEX™ to the Uni-Roller® applicator. A small amount of air in these lines is normal as air entrained in the fluid can accumulate over time, especially at high spots within the tubing run. However, if large sections of air are present in the tubing, air bubbles of more than a few inches long, this could indicate a leak somewhere within the fluid delivery system.
Excessive air bubbles could cause inconsistent fluid delivery to the Uni-Roller® system, inconsistent dispense pressure measurements, low dispense pressure warnings, or system not pumping alarms. If there is air in the fluid lines and one of aforementioned symptoms are occurring, follow the steps below to pinpoint the suction side leak.
